Pasaje Matte, opposite the Metropolitan Cathedral and with an exit to Estado street, combines a bookshop, cafés and craft shops. Around Mercado Central, there are arcades associated with Chilean handicrafts and souvenirs. Both make good stops on a Plaza de Armas walk.

Galería San Antonio brings together second-hand books, vinyl, antiques and small art galleries. Galería Los Joyeros, on Santo Domingo, specialises in jewellery and watches, with silver and gold work, repair, engraving and custom orders. Always ask about materials, origin and product terms.
